It is said that Sania Mirza has initiated the divorce proceedings, citing apparent dissatisfaction due to Shoaib Malik’s conversations with other women.

Sania Mirza has taken the step of divorce, following the announcement of Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik’s third marriage to  Sana Javed, as reported. According to the reports, Sania Mirza initiated the divorce, expressing apparent dissatisfaction due to Shoaib Malik’s interactions with other women.

The couple’s union was first established in April 2010, with their marriage taking place in Sania Mirza’s paternal city of Hyderabad and later choosing residence in Dubai. In 2018, they welcomed their son, Izhaan Mirza Malik.

Speculation arose when the couple was seen together more frequently in public, gaining attention. In response, Shoaib Malik followed Sania on Instagram, and in his bio, changed from “Husband to A Superwoman – Sania Mirza” to “Father to One Blessing.”

Sania Mirza has initiated the process of ‘khula,’ a form of divorce in Islamic law that allows a woman to seek a divorce from her husband. Indicating towards separation, Sania hinted at the challenges of marriage and divorce through a discreet Instagram story.

Shoaib Malik’s first marriage was with Ayesha Siddiqui, which ended in divorce in 2010.

As of now, sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik have chosen to part ways, and according to reports, they are both focused on raising their son, Izhaan. Despite the end of their marriage, both had collaborated on the ‘De Mirza Malik Show’ on Snapchat last year.
